Cookie Policy
Effective date: June 1, 2026
Utah Bass Bros uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work properly, remember your preferences, and provide information to website owners about how visitors use their sites.
Cookies can be “first-party” (set by the website you visit) or “third-party” (set by a different domain, such as an analytics provider or advertiser).
2. Types of Cookies We Use
| Type | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Essential for the website to function. These cannot be switched off. Examples: session cookies, security tokens. | Utah Bass Bros | Session |
| Analytics | Help us understand how visitors interact with the site — which pages are visited most, how long people stay, and where they come from. We use Google Analytics (GA4). | Google Analytics | Up to 2 years |
| Affiliate Tracking | Track referrals and purchases made through affiliate links so we can receive commissions from retailers like Amazon, Bass Pro Shops, Tackle Warehouse, and Academy Sports. | Amazon, Bass Pro Shops, and other affiliate networks | Varies (24 hours – 90 days) |
| Advertising | If we run advertising networks in the future (such as Google AdSense, Mediavine, or Raptive), they may set cookies to show relevant ads. We will update this policy if that changes. | Ad networks (if applicable) | Varies |
| Functional / Preference | Remember your preferences, such as newsletter sign-up state or UI settings. | Utah Bass Bros | Up to 1 year |
3. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymized data about how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics uses cookies to track sessions, traffic sources, and behavior on the Site. The data collected is aggregated and does not personally identify individual users.
Google may use this data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On.
4. Affiliate Tracking Cookies
When you click an affiliate link on our Site, the retailer (e.g., Amazon, Bass Pro Shops) may set a tracking cookie on your device. This allows them to attribute your purchase to our referral and pay us a commission. These cookies are placed by the retailer's domain, not ours.
Affiliate tracking cookies do not collect sensitive personal data. They typically expire within 24 hours to 90 days depending on the program.
5. How to Control Cookies
You have several options for managing cookies:
Browser settings
Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. Note that blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of this and other websites.
Google Analytics opt-out
Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on for your browser to prevent GA data collection.
Opt-out of interest-based advertising
Visit aboutads.info or the NAI opt-out tool to manage interest-based advertising preferences.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no consistent industry standard for DNT, we do not currently respond to DNT signals. We will update this policy if that changes.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as we add new features, advertising partners, or as regulations change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
