About Our Reports

Every report on this site comes from an angler who was actually on the water. We don't aggregate social media posts or republish other sites' reports. What you read here reflects real conditions at a specific lake on a specific day.

Each report includes the date, lake, conditions rating, what was working (lures, depths, presentations), and any notable catches. We also note what wasn't working — because knowing what to avoid is just as valuable as knowing what to throw.

Reports are posted within 24–48 hours of the trip. During peak season (May–September), expect 2–3 new reports per week across the lakes we cover.

good

## Conditions Water temp: 68°F. Clarity: excellent (15+ ft visibility). Water level: near full pool. ## What's Working Trophy-class smallmouth (4-6 lbs) are feeding heavily on the main lake points and canyon walls in 15-25 feet. The Megabass Vision 110 jerkbait is producing the biggest fish. Swimbaits on the bottom are also accounting for quality smallmouth. ## Best Spots - The red canyon walls on the main channel - Rocky points near the dam - Submerged humps in 15-20 feet off the main points ## Tips Use 10 lb fluorocarbon and downsize your presentation. These fish see a lot of pressure and are finicky in the ultra-clear water. The jerkbait is most effective fished on 10 lb Seaguar Invisx with a long 3-5 second pause between twitches.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often are Utah fishing reports updated?

We aim to publish new reports after every notable fishing trip, which typically means 1–3 new reports per week during prime season (April–October). Winter updates are less frequent but still posted after quality sessions.

What do the condition ratings mean?

Excellent means fish were very active, biting readily, and multiple quality fish were caught. Good means solid fishing with consistent bites. Fair means some action but fish were selective or hard to find. Poor means tough conditions — cold fronts, heavy pressure, or extreme weather made catching difficult.

Which Utah bass lake is fishing best right now?

Check the Latest Reports section above for the most current conditions at each lake. As a general rule, Utah Lake fishes best in spring and fall, Jordanelle peaks in summer for smallmouth, and Deer Creek is most consistent across all seasons.

How can I submit a fishing report?

Use our Contact page to send in your report. Include the lake name, date, conditions, what was working, and any notable catches. We review all submissions and publish reports that will be helpful to our community.
